We talk about seeing the Wheatland Winter Wheat concert at The Intersection and a great time seeing Patty PerShayla & the Mayhaps as well the coolest shirt ever! We also caught The Gasoline Gypsies once again! Ryan tells a few stories about checking out some local bands at The Stray. We also chat about how to get concert tickets cheap. Jeff falls out of his chair too, it's a great time.  

The Kings of Strings took some time to talk to us before their show at Turnstiles in Grand Rapids.  Ryan and Jeff got to know a little more about this young band in a short period of time.  We discussed their self-titled debut album and how they narrowed down the songs to the eight on the album.   They noted some of their favorite venues, what goes into booking a show, and the things they appreciate in a venue.  It was a lot of fun chatting with this group as we tested out recording in a different location

For their first album review, Jeff and Ryan selected Slowfoot's debut album Something Good.  This debut album has something good to listen to from beginning to end for anybody who enjoys classic rock tunes with blues infusion. It has a refreshing sound with the distinct vintage Hammond organ that connects us back to songs from the late 60s and early 70s.  Slowfoot takes some of those older style sounds and brings them to life by adding their unique flavor, ever changing melodies, and modern lyrics. Chris Cranick joined us for a lengthy discussion about his solo project and band, Overdrive Orchestra. He took us through the journey of the band since its inception a decade ago.

While on that journey, he told us about his leap into his solo work that allowed him to pursue making music with a slightly different flavor that did not quite fit the band's sound.

We bounced around several other topics in the discussion including an interesting discussion around the meaning of his first solo album name, Nostalgia is Killing Us.

Caleb and Joe from The Gasoline Gypsies talked with this us prior to their gig at Billy's Lounge in Grand Rapids. Our discussion took us from the band's origin to their own self-titled video game.  We also talked about the new material they are performing that could make it on their album planned for 2023.   Ryan and Jeff recap the live performance from the band before they talk about the shows/bands they want to see in the new year. 

We had the opportunity to talk with Luke from the The Corner Record Shop. We cover the origins of the shop that started back in Grandville over 20 years ago. Luke got us up to speed on their current move to a location less than a mile from their current location. In addition, Luke shared his own personal podcast, Bubbles Mushrooms, with us. Listen to hear more about the shop and Ryan's interest in turntables.

We had the chance to talk with Flylitegemini just before their show in Allendale back in August. It might have been one of our shorter interviews due to time constraints, but we learned a lot about this band in terms of music along with Joe's musings. One topic we discussed was their new album, Time and Space. It was a great time, and we hope to bring them back to hear more.

We finally had the chance to talk to a band from the east side of the state in this episode. Our conversation with Bobby, Erik, and Jarrod from Westfall was excellent. We covered their long history from how they started to the path they have chosen to stay the course since then. They have been very intentional in their approach which might not be what you would expect from a rock band.
